New appearance

cropped-cropped-free-wallpaper-13.jpgNow I’ve changed the appearance for this site. There is still a lot of adjustments and refinements to do, before they’ll shine. E.G. do I have to make changes, that make the pages called «Om meg» and «About me» available once again. This has to do with the way this theme’s menu work. So I have to find a solution to that.

I’m not quite satisfied with the way it appear on embedded devices eigther. So there is some work to be done. But this theme is cleaner, and puts my text more in focus, compared with the old theme.

I really hope the new layout pleases you, and that it will contribute to increased number of visitors, and thus also the interest for my site.

Banished -The game

s4zUce3Banished is another of my favourite games. I’ve played it, more or less regularly, for the past year. And this game is a brilliant example to prove that «less is more» is certainly true. The game is completely free of multiplayer options, warfare and such. This makes this game a completely purified «playing God» type of game.

maxresdefaultThe challenge of the game lies in an extremely delicate balance of resources, time consumption, and taking care of the population.

When you start a new game, your faced with a population of about 12 adult, some children, a few basic houses and a small lifestock. (The easiest option.) It’s spring, and the first thing you should do, is to make sure you have enough food and wood to keep your population warm and fed through the first winter. This should be your nr one priority the first summer.

Later on, as the population increases, their demand for varied food, and for religious structures will also increase. So you will need a church, a market and a graveyard to keep your population happy. You’ll soon notice that the most important resource in the game, actually is the people. And you are absolutely dependant on them reproducing, and make babies, to weigh up for the peoples who will die, as the years goes by.

Below is some snapshots from within the game, to show of the beatifull landscape and graphics of the game. (PS: If you click on the images, you’ll see them in full size.)

New Led-bulbs

LyspabadetWith this picture I’m trying to visualize the difference between new and old technology for Led-bulbs. The three to the left is new ones, and the one to the right is of an older sort.

The old-fashioned incandescent bulbs, had the following specifikations:

  • 10 watt (40 watt combined)
  • 120 lumens (480 lumens combined)
  • 3500 kelvin

The first, and older led-bulbs I replaced them with, had the following specifications:

  • 1,5 watt (6 watt combined)
  • 100 lumens (400 lumens combined)
  • 8000 kelvin (Unpleasant blue light)

And the new ones, has the following specifications:

  • 2 watt (8 watt combined)
  • 200 lumens (800 lumens combined)
  • 3200 kelvin

newsbannerThe point here is that there’s really a lot going on in this field, for the moment. And the technology is evolving really fast. The result is that today’s led-bulb gives just as pleasant light as the old incandescent bulbs did, and in my opinion the led-technology is now mature enough, that it’s prudent to ban the production of incandescent bulbs, once and for all. (For the sake of the environment. -Due to longer lifespan, and lower power consumption.)
